Box Pusher is a free warehouse puzzle with 30 levels. Push every crate onto a glowing goal without trapping yourself. It runs in your browser with no download or sign up, works on phones and computers and keeps working offline once loaded.
Inspired by: Sokoban (1981), the warehouse puzzle game.
How to play Box Pusher
- Move your little worker with the arrow keys, a swipe or the arrow pad.
- Walk into a crate to push it. You can push only one crate at a time and never pull.
- Put every crate on a glowing goal. A crate on a goal turns green.
- Stuck? Press Undo as many times as you need, or Restart the level.
- Solve a level to unlock the next one. Use Levels to jump around, and Finish to save your run.
Controls
- Keyboard: Arrow keys or WASD move. Z or U undoes and R restarts the level.
- Mouse: Click a tile to walk there. Use the Undo, Restart and Levels buttons.
- Touch screen: Swipe or use the arrow pad. You can also tap a tile and the worker walks there.
Tips to score higher
- Look at the whole room first and decide where each crate should end up.
- Do not push a crate into a corner unless the corner is a goal. It can never move again.
- Crates against a wall can only slide along the wall, so be careful.
- Fill the goals that are hardest to reach first.
- Undo is free. Use it to try an idea and take it back.
The story behind Box Pusher
Sokoban was created in 1981 by Hiroyuki Imabayashi, a Japanese game designer, and published in 1982. The name means warehouse keeper. It is simple to learn, and yet some levels take hours to solve, which is why it has been loved by puzzle fans and studied by computer scientists for decades. Many of us first met it on an old computer, a handheld or a feature phone, where one small level could keep you thinking all through a long bus ride. This version has 30 small levels of its own to bring back that quiet kind of challenge.
