The story behind The House Game
Point and click adventures became popular in the late 1980s and early 1990s with games such as Maniac Mansion in 1987 and The Secret of Monkey Island in 1990, which let players explore with a mouse instead of typing commands. Later, small escape the room games made in Flash, like Crimson Room from 2004, spread across the web and became a craze in internet cafes. The House was built by a web developer, Artur Kot, as his very first game using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. It is short, charming and perfect for a quiet break.
