How to play Aim Trainer
- Press Play. After a short pause the first target appears.
- Click or tap the target as quickly as you can. It shrinks and disappears if you wait too long.
- Each new target appears in a new place and gets a little smaller and faster as you go.
- Clicking empty space counts as a stray click and adds a small time penalty. A missed target counts as 1.5 seconds.
- After 30 targets you see your average time, accuracy and fastest hit. Lower is better.

Tips to score higher
- Keep your eyes calm and look at the middle of the screen. You will spot new targets faster.
- Do not rush every click. A stray click costs time too, so accuracy helps your score.
- Rest your hand lightly on the mouse. A relaxed grip moves faster than a tight one.
- Play a few rounds in a row. Your times usually improve after a short warm up.
The story behind Aim Trainer
Aim and reaction tests grew popular with the rise of online shooting and esports games, when players wanted a quick way to warm up their hands. The idea itself is much older. Scientists have measured human reaction time for well over a hundred years, and most people respond to something they see in around a fifth to a quarter of a second. Playing a short test like this one is a fun way to compare yourself with friends, and to see how tired or focused you are today. Many of us grew up racing friends at cyber cafes and school computer labs, so a friendly speed contest still feels familiar.
Questions players ask

What is a good average time?
Under 500 milliseconds is quick. Under 400 is very fast. Your device and screen can add a little delay too.
