Cell Eater is a free online game where you steer a cell, eat dots and smaller cells and grow as big as you can. It runs in your browser with no download or sign up, works on phones and computers, and keeps working offline once the page has loaded.
Inspired by: Browser cell eating games such as Agar.io (2015).
How to play Cell Eater
- Steer your cell with the mouse, your finger or the arrow keys.
- Eat the small dots to grow a little at a time.
- Eat any cell that is clearly smaller than you. Bigger cells will eat you, so keep your distance.
- Press Space or tap Split to divide your cell and dash forward. The pieces join back together after a few seconds.
- As you grow, the camera zooms out and you move a little slower.
- Check the top cells list to see how you compare. Reach a mass of 2500 to win.
Controls
- Keyboard: Move the mouse to steer, or use the arrow keys or WASD. Press Space to split.
- Mouse: Your cell follows the mouse. Move it farther away to go faster.
- Touch screen: Touch and drag to steer. Tap the Split button to split.
Tips to score higher
- Stay near the edge of the board in the early game to avoid big cells coming from all sides.
- Eat dots first. Small cells are easy meals, but big cells are dangerous.
- Split only when your target is close and clearly smaller. The dash is short.
- Big cells are slow. You can always turn and escape if you keep moving.
- Do not split if a big cell is nearby, because small pieces are easy to eat.
The story behind Cell Eater
Cell eating games took the web by storm in the mid 2010s, when a simple idea became a huge hit: you are a small circle, and everything bigger wants to eat you. The easy rules, quick rounds and a constant sense of risk made it perfect for school breaks and short moments in the day. In India, many of us played this style of game on school computers or on a friend's phone, trying to be the biggest blob on the screen. Cell Eater keeps that loop, with friendly bots instead of an online server, so it works even without internet.
Questions players ask
Is Cell Eater free to play?
Yes. It is free, with no sign up, no download and no in-game purchases.
Do I play against real people?
No. The other cells are computer controlled bots, so the game works offline and needs no account.
What does Split do?
It cuts your cell in two and sends one piece forward. It helps you catch smaller cells, and the pieces join again after a few seconds.
How do I win?
Grow to a mass of 2500. If you are eaten before that, your biggest mass becomes your score.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. Drag your finger to steer and tap the Split button to split.
