Dino Run is a free endless runner for anyone who has seen the dinosaur on a no internet screen. Jump over cacti, duck under birds and see how far you can run as the speed climbs. It runs in your browser with no download or sign up, works on phones and desktops, and keeps working offline once loaded.

How to play Dino Run
- Press Space, the up arrow or tap the screen to make the dino jump.
- Hold the down arrow, or the Duck button on a phone, to slide under flying birds.
- Jump over single and grouped cacti. Hold the jump key a little longer for a higher jump.
- Your score climbs as you run. Every 700 points the day turns to night, or night to day.
- The run speeds up the longer you survive. One hit ends the run, so try again for a new best.
Controls
- Keyboard: Space or Up arrow to jump. Down arrow to duck. P or Esc to pause.
- Mouse: Click the game screen to jump.
- Touch screen: Tap the screen or the Jump button to jump. Hold the Duck button to duck.
Tips to score higher
- Jump a little late rather than early. Landing right on top of the next cactus is the usual way to lose.
- Low birds need a jump, middle birds need a duck and high birds can be ignored.
- Tall groups of cacti need a full held jump, so press early and keep holding.
- Do not mash the jump key. One calm press per obstacle is enough.
- At night the screen inverts. Stay focused, because the obstacles behave exactly the same.
The story behind Dino Run
In 2014 the Chrome browser added a small surprise to its no internet page: a pixel dinosaur that you could wake up with the space bar. It took a boring error screen and turned it into a game that millions of people played while waiting for the connection to return. The idea of an endless runner is older, but this tiny game made it famous. It was especially loved in places where the connection drops often, which is a daily story in many towns and on many train journeys. Dino Run is our own version, with its own dino, birds and day and night cycle.
