Mini Golf is a free online putting game with nine holes full of bouncy walls, sand traps, water and a moving block. Drag back to aim, let go to putt, and try to finish with the fewest strokes. It runs in your browser with no download or sign up, works on phone and desktop, and keeps working offline once loaded.
Inspired by: Mini golf and crazy golf courses, and the many phone golf games they inspired.
How to play Mini Golf
- Press and drag backwards from anywhere on the course. The dotted line shows where the ball will go and the colour shows the power.
- Let go to hit the ball. Walls bounce it, so bank shots are allowed.
- Sand slows the ball a lot. Water sends the ball back to where you last hit it and adds one stroke.
- Roll the ball into the cup slowly enough and it drops in. A very fast ball skips over.
- Finish all nine holes. Your score is your total strokes, so lower is better.
Controls
- Keyboard: Left and right arrows aim. Hold Space to build power and release it to hit the ball. P to pause.
- Mouse: Press, drag back and release to putt.
- Touch screen: Touch the course, drag your finger back and lift it to putt.
Tips to score higher
- Gentle putts are enough on short holes. Save full power for the long ones.
- Use the walls. A bank shot can get around an obstacle with one stroke.
- Aim to roll slowly over the cup. A fast ball can jump right over it.
- On the moving block hole, wait for the gap and then hit with steady power.
The story behind Mini Golf
Miniature golf grew out of putting greens in the early 1900s, and the first themed courses with obstacles appeared in the United States in the late 1920s. Small courses with windmills, ramps and tunnels spread across the world and became a classic family outing, loved because anyone can play, young or old. You do not need to be strong, only careful. Many of us remember a birthday outing or a holiday resort course where the ball rolled into the water at the last hole. Mini Golf brings that friendly, funny kind of competition to your screen.
