Tank Artillery is a free turn based tank duel for your browser. Set the angle and power of your shot, check the wind and try to hit the other tank before it hits you. Play against the computer or with a friend, with no download or sign up, on phone and desktop, and it works offline once loaded.
Inspired by: Scorched Earth (1991) and other artillery duel games.
How to play Tank Artillery
- Choose Vs computer or 2 players.
- Aim your barrel with Left and Right, or drag on the screen. Set power with Up and Down.
- Look at the wind arrow at the top. It pushes the shell sideways while it flies.
- Press Fire. Each side gets 10 shots. Craters appear where shells land and the ground really breaks.
- Switch weapons for big bombs, cluster shells or a dirt ball that buries things. The tank with more health after 10 shots wins.
Controls
- Keyboard: Left and Right turn the barrel, Up and Down change power, Space fires and X changes weapon.
- Mouse: Drag on the battlefield to aim, then press the Fire button. Click the weapon button to change weapon.
- Touch screen: Drag on the screen to aim, then tap Fire. Use the Swap button to change weapon.
Tips to score higher
- Use the dotted line as a guide. It shows the first part of the flight.
- Wind matters more for high shots. Lower the angle on windy turns.
- Big bombs and cluster shells are limited, so save them for tight shots.
- A dirt ball can bury the other tank or block its line.
- Watch where the computer lands. Its aim improves with every shot.
The story behind Tank Artillery
Artillery duel games are some of the oldest ideas in computer gaming. Early text versions in the 1960s and 70s asked you to type an angle and a speed. In 1991 Scorched Earth for DOS added colourful tanks, wind, shops full of weapons and ground you could blow apart, and a whole generation of players stayed up late with it. Games in the same spirit, like Pocket Tanks, followed. If you spent school evenings sharing one keyboard with a friend, taking turns to tweak the angle by one degree, this will feel like home.

Reduce the other tank to zero health, or have more health left after both sides have used their 10 shots.

The shell is free and always available. The big bomb makes a larger blast. The cluster shell splits into three bomblets. The dirt ball adds earth and does no damage.

Yes. Drag to aim and tap Fire. The arrow pad and weapon button are also on screen.
